The New York state flag features the state coat of arms on a dark blue field. The arms display a sun rising over the Hudson Highlands, two sailing ships on the Hudson River, and a grassy shore with a globe beneath an American eagle. Two female figures support the shield: Liberty, with a Phrygian cap on her staff and a discarded crown at her feet, and Justice, blindfolded and holding scales and a sword. About the New York State Flag
