Flagpole Delivery: What to Expect
Your flagpole kit ships by freight truck from FlagCo's plant in Acworth, Georgia. Freight delivery works differently from a parcel on the porch, so here is exactly what happens and what we need from you.
What free shipping covers
- Freight shipping to any street address in the lower 48 states, at no charge.
- Curbside delivery with liftgate service. The driver lowers the crate to the ground at the curb or the end of your driveway.
- A call-ahead from the carrier to schedule a delivery window.
Alaska, Hawaii, and addresses outside the United States are not included. Call 800-962-0956 for a quote.
Timing
Poles are built to order in 2 business days. Freight transit and scheduling then take 2 to 4 weeks depending on where you are. You will get a tracking notice when the pole leaves Acworth, and the carrier will call the phone number on your order to set a delivery window before they come out. Please answer that call. If the carrier cannot reach you, the pole waits at their terminal, and storage charges can start after a few days.
How big is it
The pole ships in one long crate or wrapped bundle with the hardware boxed inside. Plan for the full overall length, not the exposed height: a 20 ft flagpole ships at about 22 ft, a 25 ft flagpole at about 27.5 ft, and a 30 ft flagpole at about 33 ft.
The pole itself is aluminum and two adults can carry it. The crate needs a clear, flat spot at the curb or driveway that is at least as long as the pole.
Before delivery day
- Make sure a full-size tractor trailer can reach your address. Long private drives, low branches, weight-limited bridges, and gated communities are the usual problems. If your street cannot take a 53 ft trailer, tell us when you order and we will arrange a smaller truck or a terminal pickup.
- Have someone 18 or older there to meet the driver, inspect the shipment, and sign for it. The driver will not leave a flagpole without a signature.
- Clear a spot where the crate can sit until you are ready to install. It can stay outside; keep it off wet ground so the hardware boxes stay dry.
On delivery day: inspect before you sign
This is the important part. Once you sign a clean delivery receipt, the carrier's responsibility ends. Take five minutes:
- Walk the full length of the crate. Look for crushed corners, punctures, or a bend anywhere in the bundle.
- Count the pieces against the packing list on the crate.
- If you see any damage, write it on the delivery receipt before you sign ("crate crushed at one end," "pole bent," and so on) and take photos of the damage and the shipping label while the driver is there.
- If the pole is obviously bent, refuse the delivery and call us at 800-962-0956. We will ship a replacement and handle the claim.
- If damage is minor or you find hidden damage after opening the crate, contact us within 48 hours with photos. Keep all the packaging until the claim is settled.
Freight damage is covered by the carrier's claim process, not the product warranty, which is why the notes on the delivery receipt matter. We will handle the claim for you, but we cannot do that on a receipt signed clean.
